Gunmen ambushed police in Pakistan’s restive northwest, killing 4 officers

Peshawar, Pakistan– Gunmen ambushed a police car in Pakistan’s restive northwest on Wednesday, killing four officers and wounding two others, officials said.
Sajjad Khan, a senior police official, said that the attack occurred in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province while officers were heading to a nearby town to conduct an operation aimed at arresting a local leader of the Pakistani Taliban.
