A Russian drone kills a father and 3 children in Ukraine, and seriously injures a pregnant mother


Kyiv, Ukraine — A Russian drone crashed into a house in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region overnight, killing a father and his three young children and seriously wounding their mother, who was 35 weeks pregnant, officials said Wednesday.

The raid completely destroyed the house and set it on fire, while the family was trapped under the rubble, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors said the 34-year-old father and his three children – two-year-old twins and their one-year-old sister – died, while rescue workers pulled the mother alive from the rubble.

They added that she suffered injuries from explosions, brain injuries, burns, and hearing loss.

The drone that struck the Kharkiv town of Pohodokhiv has been identified as a Jeeran-2, a Russian-made copy of an Iranian Shahed drone.
