A passenger ferry capsized in the Nile River in Sudan, killing at least 15 people


Cairo — A passenger ferry capsized in the Nile River in Sudan, killing at least 15 people, a medical group said.

The Sudan Doctors Network, a medical group tracking the ongoing war in the country, said the ferry, which was carrying at least 27 people, including women and children, sank in the northern Nile River Governorate.

The group said that at least 15 bodies had been recovered, while residents and rescue teams were still searching for at least six other victims. She added that six people survived the tragedy.
