Crystal Pratt claimed that workers at the retail giant’s Albany location repeatedly shouted at her while she was inside the store’s supermarket.

Pratt, who uses a mobility scooter and has undergone surgeries in recent years, had already signed papers certifying Bella’s service dog status.

But the problem stems from the fact that Pratt’s dog, which helps her pick up items she can’t reach, was not on a leash while inside the supermarket.

She claimed she was challenged by at least five workers, who she said were not wearing ID badges, before calling the police.

“They kept shouting through the hallways that she needed to be put on a leash.” He told the Daily Mail. She was at the checkout when the police arrived before she was escorted out.

Service dogs must be harnessed or leashed, In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. But there is an exception for those who cannot harness their animals.

In those circumstances, Americans must use their voices or signals to control their service animals.

Store workers can only ask Americans with a service dog two questions if it’s not entirely clear what job the animal performs.

The first question is: “Is the dog a service animal required due to a disability?”

Store workers cannot question a customer about their disability, or ask them to show medical documents, under ADA terms.

They are also prohibited from asking clients about asking the animal to do its homework in some type of test.
