When a senior royal publicly addresses Epstein face-to-face, it’s no small feat, royal commentator Amanda Mata told Fox News Digital. It’s a bold move that puts accountability and public trust front and center.

“Princess Sofia’s decision to address this head-on is important because she didn’t necessarily have to,” Mata explained.

“She is viewed as a potential victim, not an intimate associate or someone who remained in contact with Epstein after his conviction,” Mata added. “Royal members with closer ties to Epstein have, so far, relied on official palace statements or chosen to remain silent.”

“Sofia’s inclusion in the files highlights just how large and seductive Epstein’s social circle was in the early 2000s, even for young women.

“She is quite right to say ‘thank God’ that she only had a few interactions with him at public events. For this reason, this story is unlikely to damage her public image in the long run. By speaking out now, she has also prevented further speculation from arising.”

The princess broke her silence about a week and a half after the Justice Department released more than 3 million records linked to the late financier, including his personal emails.

The last batch included three photos of Britain’s Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor On all fours on top of an unidentified woman Lying on the floor on her back. The woman is fully clothed, her face blackened.

In December, the Swedish Royal Court acknowledged that Princess Sofia had met Epstein “on several occasions” after new emails emerged that appeared to link the prince to a convicted sex offender.

“Recent media reports regarding Princess Sofia have raised speculation about the princess and her alleged relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” a spokesperson for the Swedish Royal Court told Fox News Digital in a statement.

“At the same time, it is important that reporting remains focused on what is relevant. No one can be expected to remember every person they encounter throughout their life; however, Princess Sofia does recall meeting Epstein on a few occasions around 20 years ago.

The statement continued: “We would like to clarify that these meetings took place in social places, such as a restaurant and during a movie premiere.” “Reports that the Princess received help from Epstein with acting lessons or with a visa to enter the United States are not true.

“The Princess has never relied on him in any way, nor has she had any contact with him for the past 20 years,” the statement concluded.

Ehnbaum reportedly wrote in a December 2005 email, “This is Sophia, an aspiring actress who has just arrived in New York. She’s the girl I told you about before I left, who I thought you might want to meet. Maybe we could visit her before she goes on vacation?” The message included a picture.

Epstein reportedly replied: “I’m in the Caribbean. Do you want to come for a few days? I’ll send a ticket.”

Epstein is believed to have been inviting Sophia to Little St James, his private island, where he has been accused. From sex trafficking of minors.

The Swedish Royal Court told the outlet that Sofia “was introduced to the person concerned on several occasions around 2005.” Officials also noted that Sophia did not accept the invitation to join Epstein in the Caribbean.

The site also published a 2006 email from Epstein’s associate to Ehnebaum that said: “Jeffrey wonders what really happened with Camilla. Did you tell her she had a ticket to New York anytime she wanted?”

“I think he meant Sofia, the pretty little girl with dark hair who had her friend Camilla with her,” Ehnbaum reportedly responded. It was noted that Epstein offered both women a place at acting school, but there were issues with their visas.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Ehnbom for comment.

In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to charges of trafficking a minor for prostitution and soliciting prostitution. More than a decade later, in 2019, he was indicted on federal sex trafficking charges involving minors. He died that year at the age of 66 while awaiting trial.

“In the mid-2000s, Sofia was an aspiring actress and model trying to establish herself in New York,” Mata previously told Fox News Digital.

“Unfortunately, Jeffrey Epstein’s social network touched nearly every corner of this world. Knowing about him at the time does not mean she was complicit in, or even aware of, what would later be revealed in his crimes. If anything, young women like Sophia may have been the ones who were lured, not the other way around.”

“The kind of direct response we saw from Sweden is very characteristic of the Scandinavian monarchies,” Matta said.

“They tend to favor calm, hands-on damage control over the defensive or drawn-out approach we often see from British royals. I doubt Sophia will face any formal repercussions unless more details emerge that shed light on actual misconduct, given how long it has been since this happened and how far she has distanced herself from it.”

As a model, Sofia posed topless with a boa constrictor for Swedish men’s magazine Slitz. She appeared in the reality TV show “Paradise Hotel” in 2005.

According to multiple reports, Sofia met Prince Carl Philip, 46, the only son of King Carl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia, at a Swedish nightclub through mutual friends in 2009. Their relationship became public in 2010.

The couple married in 2015 and launched the Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia Foundation, which works to raise awareness about the harmful effects of cyberbullying and hate speech.

Mata told Fox News Digital that Sofia has dedicated herself to royal duties since joining the Swedish royal family.

“The Scandinavian monarchies tend to operate more transparently than some of their European counterparts, and Sofia’s past before her marriage has always been part of her story,” Matta said.

“If anything, the fact that she directly addressed this perceived connection to Epstein may have reinforced positive perceptions of her.”
