Seahawks GM contract joke falls flat with Kenneth Walker

Seahawks general manager John Schneider’s red cup negotiations at the 2026 Super Bowl show in Seattle on Wednesday quickly became a bizarre affair.
Schneider began publicly negotiating with himself over the contract of Kenneth Walker III, Seattle’s then-player Named Super Bowl MVP After rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries.
“Ken Walker is the best player, let’s go!” Schneider, who appeared a bit drunk, shouted in front of nearly a million fans in celebration of the show. “He tried to reason with me five minutes ago. It was really weird. Anyway. Hey, MVP! MVP!”

But Walker, who was smiling sadly and shaking his head no as Sneijder negotiated against himself, later jumped on Instagram Stories to directly refute what the general manager had said, blaming booze.
“He must have been drinking because I never said that was a thing!” followed by two laughing emojis.
Walker is expected to make $13.5 million annually. According to Otkek.
Schneider’s public joke about “negotiating” may have caused Walker’s price to rise a bit for the Seahawks, who have roughly $73 million in cap space. According to Spotrac.

Schneider was clearly ecstatic after winning his second Super Bowl as the team’s general manager, but he may now have to make some amends with Walker after the ill-timed remark.
