African foreign ministers meet in Addis Ababa ahead of the 39th African Union Summit

The Ethiopian News Agency reported that upon their arrival at Bole International Airport, the dignitaries were received by senior officials of the Ethiopian government.
Meanwhile, Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gideon Timotheus today received Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Okello Oryem in his office in Addis Ababa.
During the meeting, Minister Gedeon emphasized the strong and long-term bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Uganda, noting the important role the two countries play in promoting peace and stability in the region. He stressed the importance of continuing cooperation in areas of common interest to further enhance cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
For his part, State Minister Okello Oryem highlighted the key roles played by Ethiopia and Uganda at the regional level, and noted that the two countries enjoy strong relations at the highest levels of leadership. He reiterated Uganda’s commitment to deepening its multifaceted cooperation with Ethiopia.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and continental peace and security issues of common interest.
