Norwegian Olympian Sturla Holm-Leggrid ‘deeply regrets’ making shocking cheating admission live after winning medal


Norwegian Olympian Sturla Holm-Legrid has apologized after admitting to cheating on his ex-girlfriend on live television at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The athlete admitted that he “deeply regrets” the withholding of his bronze medal and his teammate Johan Ulva Boten receiving the gold medal “on a festive day for Norwegian biathlon.”

Liegrid spoke out after candidly revealing he cheated on his ex three months into their relationship following the men’s 20km biathlon race on Tuesday.
The bronze medalist, who dated his ex-wife for six months, said it was the “biggest mistake of his life” and that he couldn’t enjoy his win because she wasn’t there.
“She’s got the gold medal in life, and I’m sure there are a lot of people who would see things differently, but I only have eyes for her,” he said. “Sports has come in second place these past few days. Yes, I wish I could share that with her.”
“I’m trying to be a good role model, and I did something stupid,” Legrid continued. “You have to admit when you do something you can’t stand and hurt someone you love very much.”
Ligrid hoped his confession would give his ex a “chance” to “figure out what she really means to him”.
