Africa: Foreign Ministers continue to arrive in Addis Ababa to attend the 39th African Union Summit

ADDIS ABABA – Foreign ministers from across Africa continue to arrive in Addis Ababa ahead of the 39th African Union Summit, as preparations for high-level discussions in the continental assembly intensify.
This morning, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Sudan, Samaya Kumba, arrived at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa of Ghana; Seychelles Foreign Minister Barry Faure; Senegalese Foreign Minister Cheikh Niang; Togolese Foreign Minister Robert Ducey; Minister of Foreign Affairs Sylvie Valery Notvi born Baibou Timone of the Central African Republic; Tanzanian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabet Kombo; and Foreign Minister Sarah Bessolo Nyanti of Liberia.
Deputy Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Noila Nakwebonyi Ajanagatu, also arrived.
The dignitaries are in the Ethiopian capital to participate in the forty-eighth ordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union, which is being held today as part of the broader summit proceedings.
Upon their arrival, the Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye, warmly received the ministers.
The Executive Council session brings together the foreign ministers of the African Union member states to deliberate on key political issues and set the agenda for the Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
