Li Ka Shing Foundation, Hong Kong Disneyland offers free tickets to 5,000 domestic workers
The Li Ka Shing Foundation and Hong Kong Disneyland announced they will give 5,000 migrant domestic workers free theme park tickets as a “sincere gesture of gratitude” for their hard work.
The foundation said in a statement on Tuesday that domestic workers can submit their applications through three non-governmental organizations: the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union, Peyton House, and Christian Action.
Eligible workers can visit the park for free on either March 29 or April 12.
Not only will they receive a day pass to Disneyland, but they will also receive vouchers for two full meals and a special snack at the park, as well as an Octopus Card for transportation.
This year, the program will be expanded to include not only workers from the Philippines, but also workers from Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Thailand.
In 2024, the Li Ka Shing Foundation and Hong Kong Disneyland for the first time gave away free tickets to 4,000 Filipino domestic workers, while in 2025, they gave away park tickets to 4,200 Filipino domestic workers.
The charity was founded in 1980 by Hong Kong’s richest billionaire, Li Ka-shing.
Following the deadly fire at Wang Fook Court in Tai Po in November, which killed 168 people, including 10 domestic workers, the foundation announced it would donate HK$30 million to support NGOs carrying out relief work.
It also contributed HK$50 million to pursue community rebuilding efforts.
