Africa: Appointment of Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as envoy for maternal and child health services in Africa

DAR ES SALAAM – President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been officially appointed as the Ambassador for Maternal and Child Health Services in Africa, an appointment made by the Africa CDC Executive Committee during the fifth session of the Africa CDC Executive Committee via video conference.
Dr. Samia was represented at the session by Health Minister Mohamed Mshingirwa, who participated in the discussion on behalf of Tanzania, and was joined by experts from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, at the Ministry’s offices in Dar es Salaam.
The main agenda of the session, which included seven agendas, was to receive and approve the Executive Committee report as well as the 2026 Africa CDC Action Plan

This appointment is a great honor for Tanzania and is a mark of recognition of the Doctor’s contribution and leadership. Samia Salouh Hassan in strengthening the health sector, especially in improving health services for mothers and children, locally and internationally
